Rachel has been involved in construction for over 30 years. Before taking her position at Merritt and Fryers, she spent almost 20 years as a landscape architect, town planner and certified arborist, gaining a breadth of experience within large multidisciplinary infrastructure and construction teams. She has practical experience leading teams in the construction process from development planning and contract negotiation through to materials procurement and selling. While in her current role Rachel has overseen the expansion of the award-winning family business with acquisitions, restructure and recent MBO. She is a champion of workplace training, education and continued personnel development. Motivated by a desire to see the industry embrace environmentally sustainable practices she oversaw the recent successful ConstructZero accreditation for the company. As a Managing Director of one of the smaller independent merchants, she is well placed to embrace and implement positive change.
