Ian started his career with Marley as a Graduate Trainee and then worked in various Marketing and Sales roles. He joined Knauf in 1995 initially in Commercial roles including Marketing, Supply Chain and Sales. In 2010, Ian became Managing Director responsible for the Knauf plasterboard activities in the UK and Ireland. From 2016, Ian spent 5 years running a number of Knauf businesses in the Nordic region and lived with his family in Copenhagen. In 2021, Ian moved back to the Knauf UK and Ireland business, again as Managing Director. He is proud to have worked in this industry over the past 30 years. It offers terrific and rewarding careers, combining a strong work ethic with an appetite for change and development. The underlying strength of the merchant sector is testament to this. As the supplier representative on the board, Ian is able to bring these important perspectives as the BMF recognises the crucial role that suppliers play in the BMF.
