Key points from John's video brief
This is the third video in the series of videos and letters from John Newcomb, BMF CEO, to inform all of our members what the BMF are doing throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
The video covers the BMF’s Branch Operating Guidelines, which have been developed along with a supporting a video, to help you to successfully return back, and to implement a safe working practice within your organisation.
Work being undertaking on Business Rate Relief is also covered.
John also talks about the new Construction Leadership Council COVID-19 website, which showcases some of the amazing projects that the industry has undertaken during the COVID-19 crisis, including BMF members.
Another major project that the BMF has been working on is setting up a Product Availability Group, jointly chaired by John and Peter Caplehorn, the Chief Executive of the Construction Products Association, (CPA).
The group meets every two weeks and consists of major house builders, tier one contractors, small house builders, the five largest builders’ merchants and the five largest manufacturing suppliers. It is looking critically now at the products likely to be in heavy demand and products where there may well be shortages within the future.
An overview of the discussions with Nadhim Zahawi, the Minister for Business and Industry, is also explained.
