Building inclusivity

Helping members improve equity, diversity and inclusion in their organisations

The BMF is a strategic partner of the Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC), which was established in 2023 by CEOs at leading organisations including Baxi, Bradfords, Bristan, Genuit Group, Highbourne Group, Huws Gray, Ibstock, Knauf, SIG,  Travis Perkins, Wavin, The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) and the National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS), to raise standards on equity, diversity and inclusion in the building materials and products sector. The immediate focus is on making our sector more welcoming and inclusive; and on improving gender representation in the industry.

BMF members can access a vast range of resources by signing the Built on Better Pledge, created to give clear guiding principles to help them address equity, diversity and inclusion within their organisations. It outlines seven key actions that all members of the Coalition are expected to commit to.
