BMF celebrates long-standing companies at charity fund-raiser
A gala dinner hosted by the Builders Merchants Federation and Builders’ Merchants News has continued to celebrate success across the industry, with 2026 focusing on businesses established more than 50 years ago.
The Top 100 event serves as both an opportunity to recognise the work of people and businesses operating within the building materials supply chain and to raise funds for BMF’s charity partners The Educational Frontier Trust (TEFT) and the Maddie Rose Foundation.
This year, the Top 100 recognises businesses rather than individuals for the first time, with 50 builders merchant companies and 50 supplier, manufacturer or service companies – all with at least 50 years trading achieved, in the spotlight.
Held at the Belfry Hotel, the dinner recognised the significant impact these long-standing businesses have had within the building materials sector as well as charity and community work and a commitment to training and apprenticeships.
Headline sponsor for the event was NMBS, with £9,500 raised for the BMF’s charity partners. Other sponsors include: AE Spink, Bradfords Building Supplies, Cemex Rugby Cement, Huws Gray, InstallerSHOW, IG Lintels, JCB, Knauf Insulation, Knauf UK, K Rend, MP Moran, Selco, Travis Perkins, NBG, Nicholls & Clarke, Stanley Black & Decker, Wilson Brook, Ultratape and Unilin Insulation.
John Newcomb, BMF CEO said: “Our congratulations to the Top 100 companies that have contributed a great deal to our sector and the communities they serve, for more than 50 years.
“This recognition is much deserved, and it is fitting that we highlight the work of these businesses as our partner in this event, Builders Merchants News, celebrates its 50th anniversary.”
