BMF announces next Chief Executive Officer
The BMF (Builders Merchants Federation) has announced the appointment of Tom Reynolds as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 9 November 2026.
His appointment follows the January 2026 announcement of a leadership transition at the BMF, which will see BMF Chairman Richard Hill retiring at the end of October and current CEO John Newcomb stepping into the new role of BMF Executive Chairman.
Tom will join the BMF from his current role as Chief Executive of the British Brands Group, where he has championed the value of brands to the UK economy and led the Group's work to strengthen members’ capabilities and influence key policy areas. Prior to that, as Chief Executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association, he represented manufacturers across the bathroom products sector, working with members, government, regulators and industry partners on product compliance, sustainability, water efficiency, skills and market confidence.
Tom, who holds a BA in Law and Politics and an MA in Environmental Politics, began his career in public affairs and communications before moving into membership at the British Ceramic Confederation, now Ceramics UK. He is focused on helping trade associations sharpen their strategic purpose, strengthen their influence and demonstrate tangible value to members.

down confident that the Board has a strong management team in place to lead the BMF into its next chapter.”
