BMF Young Merchants Group
As a Young Merchant member, you can expect to enjoy a variety of benefits. We have a number of meetings and events throughout the year, at which you can network with your peers from the industry and form great business and social relationships!
We hold a Spring meeting each year at a Supplier facility somewhere in the UK. This is then typically followed by a short International trip in the Summer, again hosted by one of our Suppliers with International facilities – these are generally smaller groups, however the perfect environment for forming close bonds with like-minded individuals. During the autumn, we alternate bi-annually between an Autumn meeting or a Young Merchant Conference.
At each of our events we like to ensure everyone is getting the most out of their membership, so we combine a mix of Industry Speakers, Key Note Speakers and break-out networking sessions, all with the aim to give our members something to take back to their business.
Along with the opportunity to meet numerous times throughout the year, being part of our Young Merchant group gives you membership to the Institute of Builders Merchants (IoBM). The IoBM exists to promote and acknowledge experienced, qualified individuals employed within the Builders Merchants industry by supporting them in their personal development through relevant training and Continual Professional Development (CPD). You will have access to a mentoring platform where you can register to have a mentor from somewhere within the industry that can help you progress and develop in particular areas throughout your career.
The Young Merchants Group has an annual membership fee of £130.00 plus VAT running from April 1 to March 31 with pro rata discounts and an additional £30.00 for IoBM associate membership.
