Following the last two successful BMF Parliamentary Receptions we are planning to hold another event in the House of Commons in October, in the Members’ Dining Room of the House of Commons. The headline sponsor is UK Construction Week.






Building a sustainable Britain

This event will showcase sustainability in the manufacture and distribution of building materials & home improvement products. The emphasis is on sustainability and advanced manufacturing to show MPs and Peers how BMF members use materials’ science and process technology to develop low-carbon solutions, increase resource efficiency, and improve product performance.

Thirteen specially-invited BMF Supplier Members will exhibit their latest materials or products, so that we can showcase the very best in building excellence from BMF members to Westminster and Whitehall.

Many will remember that in 2019, the former Business Secretary Sir Vince Cable MP spoke at the beginning - with the Housing Secretary, Sajid Javid MP, replying for the Government as our closing speaker in 2018 and Nadhim Zahawi MP at our innovation reception in 2019. We hope to get a senior member of the Government to speak again at this year’s event in May.

ATTENDANCE IS ON AN INVITATION ONLY BASIS. We will ask invitees to contact theirs MPs to persuade him/her to join us at this sustainability showcase reception.
