Mental Health UK
Mental Health UK supports people affected by mental health problems
including friends, family and carers.
Working across the UK, we bring
together over 40 years of expertise from our four national founding
charity partners to improve understanding and provide vital care.
Visit the Mental Health UK website at
mentalhealth-uk.org for examples of how they provide advice, information and
support.
Samaritans
Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelin

gs of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide.
Every six seconds we respond to a call for help.
Every
year, we answer more than 5 million calls for help by phone, email,
SMS, letter, face to face at one of our local branches and through our
Welsh language service.
We're here 24/7, before, during and after a crisis.
Whether
it’s an ‘are you ok?’ at just the right moment, or the midnight support
of a trained volunteer; whether it's better training in the workplace
or campaigning for more investment in national and local suicide
prevention – we're here.
Our charity works to make sure there’s always someone there, for anyone who needs someone.
Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
Read vision, mission and values.
During 2017, more than 20,000 people volunteered their time for Samaritans:
- almost 17,000 trained listening volunteers responded to calls for help
- 2,000 volunteers supported the running of our 201 branches
- more than 1,700 people in prisons volunteered as trained Listeners providing peer support.
