    Pick-and-Mix Management Training

    Overview
Management is a profession in its own right, yet we often expect those promoted for their expertise to manage and then lead with almost no real training. This often leads to a lack of confidence that can be damaging to all areas of the business as the ‘manager’ becomes increasingly likely only to react to outside influences rather than become a proactive leader with vision, a clear set of objectives and all the necessary skills to deliver them both.

This option recognises that managers already come with a variety of strengths and limitations and it allows merchants to ‘pick-and-mix’ a management training programme appropriate to the business’ individual circumstances and requirements.

    Key Outcomes
This course recognises the needs of both new and practising managers and focuses on the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for a rewarding and influential management role. Following the entire programme below will ensure that delegates will be able to:-

    • Maintain and further develop their own personal effectiveness.
    • Effectively manage profitable merchant operations.
    • Monitor and control the use of financial resources and understand their impact.
    • Carry out recruitment and selection of personnel.
    • Motivate teams and people to a high level of performance.
    • Plan, allocate and evaluate work.
    • Maintain good working relationships.
    • Manage and communicate information effectively.
    • Set and manage objectives in areas such as performance and training, designed to best implement their vision and goals and to maintain their values and those of the organisation for whom they work.

If you are ‘pick-and-mixing’ the content, after you have made your choices a course outline will be sent to you detailing the choices made, the relevant objectives (from above) and a suggested length of course (1-5 days) for your confirmation.

    Methods
Development workshops, comprising both individual and collaborative activities, designed to reinforce key concepts, challenge assumptions and share experiences.

There is also the option for each delegate to be given an action plan designed to enable them to apply the key skills, knowledge and attitudes to activities back at work. This can, if you wish, be assessed by one of our tutors.
