FEST Dublin - 23rd to 25th September 2010

Europe’s most westerly capital city will play host to the 52nd FEST Congress in 2010. A bustling, cosmopolitan city where Wi-Fi is the norm but history is around every corner.  A perfect microcosm of the dynamics which are shaping and re-shaping today’s European markets - and the pattern of merchant distribution which serves them.  A perfect venue to reflect on what the future has in store for us all.

Industry leaders work together
Turbulent times call for strategic vision. The international ‘credit-crunch’ has hit all our markets. Plans have been re-laid. Staff have been re-deployed. Some ideas have been shelved indefinitely;  others have come to the fore with surprising and unexpected rapidity.  To get the most out of the market, we need to first work together to understand what it looks like today, and what it will look like tomorrow.

New ideas and opportunities across Europe
The move towards ’off site’ construction for everything from luxury hotels to high security prisons spells both new challenges and new opportunities.  New social regulations make home-working and web-sourcing more likely and more acceptable.  Water saving and energy saving measures are challenging conventional wisdom and conventional sales messages.  Where do we go from here?

Inspire us - and be inspired
We cannot rely upon traditional market dynamics or conventional solutions. Economic recovery will be patchy and erratic within individual trading nations;  even more so across the European market as a whole.  Flexibility and vision will be the watchwords for the coming 12 months.  So Flexibility and vision are the watchwords for Dublin 2010.  The business agenda for the 52nd  FEST congress is deliberately being built around delivering quality answers to the differing questions of the day.

When in Dublin...
The Irish capital is a city with a unique reputation, a long and vibrant history, and a vibrant and fascinating culture.  And the Fest 2010 social programme allows us to take the maximum advantage of all Dublin has to offer – from the iconic Guinness Brewery to the beautiful River Liffey which runs past its walls and through the centre of the city.  From the world-class shopping to the world-renowned ‘craic’ – the Gaelic word for having a good time.

First class event; first class venue
FEST 2010 takes place in the five-star Westin Dublin hotel, situated in the heart of the city centre overlooking Trinity College and The Bank of Ireland.  The Westin Dublin hotel is a short stroll to Grafton Street, and within walking distance of the finest shopping areas.  A comfortable, distinctive and memorable setting for a major international event of this nature.

In addition to a full business agenda the social programme allows us to take the maximum advantage of all Dublin has to offer, including the iconic Guinness Brewery, the beautiful River Liffey and world-class shopping to name but three.
